Damascus- Students will explore all aspects of making pattern-welded Damascus, including the development of patterns and the manipulation of layered materials. The finished Damascus will be used in various art forms, including ornamental blacksmithing and bladesmithing.

Mokume- Students will explore the art of fusing nonferrous metals to create unique jewelry and metal art pieces that emphasize design and form. Techniques will include metal fusing, air chasing, and pattern manipulation. Materials used will primarily include copper, silver, and brass, with the option to incorporate gold.

Students will provide their own tools, safety gear, and materials. Your instructor will review tools, materials, and supply needs with you on the first day of class. Estimated initial cost of tools and materials: $150.00+. Please note, initial costs are higher for new students because essential starter supplies are required. 

This course has no requirements.
